Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be IEOLCA-trained to be listed?
No. The directory is open to doulas trained at any recognized institution, including INELDA, NEDA, Doulagivers, Going with Grace, Death Doula School, and others. If you completed a reputable program, you are welcome to apply.
Is there a cost to be listed in the directory?
No. Your listing is completely free. Every approved doula receives a full professional profile, including photo, bio, credentials, and a direct contact button for families. There is nothing to pay.
What if I am still completing my training?
You are welcome to apply. Your listing will clearly indicate that your training is in progress, and your availability status will reflect where you are in your practice.
Who reviews my listing?
Each submission is reviewed by IEOLCA before publication to ensure the listing is complete, appropriate for the directory, and aligned with the purpose of helping families find trained end-of-life doula support.
Can a directory listing actually help me build my practice?
Yes. Being discoverable is one of the most important early steps in building a sustainable end-of-life doula practice. Many families and healthcare professionals begin their search for support online, and a professional directory listing helps make you findable at that important moment.
I serve clients virtually. Can I be listed if I am outside North America?
Absolutely. The directory is global and welcomes doulas from all countries. Your listing will show your location and can indicate virtual availability so families anywhere in the world can find you.
Can I update my listing after it goes live?
Yes. Simply email office@ieolca.org with your updated information and we will make the changes within a few business days.
Does a listing mean IEOLCA endorses my individual practice?
Directory listings are intended to help families find trained, non-medical end-of-life doula support. Each doula is responsible for working within their own training, scope of practice, experience, and local regulations. Inclusion in the directory does not replace a family's own conversation, discernment, or decision-making process.
Will I receive emails from IEOLCA after I join?
Yes. As part of your listing, you will be added to the IEOLCA doula community list and receive occasional resources, program updates, and end-of-life care information. You can unsubscribe at any time.
