Let each family’s wishes
shape the support.

A graduate reflection on IEOLCA’s Pet Death Doula Certification

“Training with IEOLCA’s Pet Death Doula program provided valuable information, thoughtful reflection, compassionate guidance on grief, and important tools and templates. What was beautifully expressed was that pet loss is legitimate, choices are personal, and what remains, always, is love.”

Finding your starting point

Who is this course for?

This course is for people with foundational pet death doula or relevant companion-animal end-of-life education who want to develop the business side of their work. You may have trained through IEOLCA or another organization, be preparing a first offer, or be refining an existing practice.

How is this different from the Pet Death Doula Certification?

IEOLCA’s Pet Death Doula Certification develops the foundations of non-medical pet end-of-life support and includes an introduction to professional practice. Business Essentials is a separate course that gives you more space for service design, pricing, agreements, outreach, client processes, and a practical launch plan. It builds on your care education.

Do I need to have trained with IEOLCA?

No. Learners with appropriate foundational education from other organizations are welcome. If you are new to the pet death doula role, begin with foundational training so you understand scope, family support, grief, and veterinary collaboration before developing a paid service.

I already offer human end-of-life doula services. Could this help me?

Yes. You can use the course to develop a distinct pet support offer, adapt your client processes, and build relationships with pet professionals. Human end-of-life experience does not replace pet-specific foundational education or veterinary expertise.

Learning & practical tools

Is the course online and self-paced? Are there videos?

Yes, the course is fully online and self-paced, with lifetime access. This edition is guidebook-led: you learn through reading, fictional examples, reflection, planning exercises, and practical tools. There are no required videos, live classes, or fixed completion deadlines.

What is included?

Enrollment includes five learning modules, an interactive online guidebook, 26 practical resource tools, reflection and planning spaces, module progress checks, options to print or save your work as PDF through your browser, lifetime access, and a certificate of completion after your final reflection is reviewed.

Can I adapt the templates for my practice?

Yes. Use the tools to develop your own wording, offers, and processes. The agreement, privacy, risk, and financial tools are educational starting points that need adaptation to your actual services and appropriate local professional review. They are not finished legal contracts or individualized legal, tax, or financial advice.

How do saved answers and printable tools work?

Your learning answers and progress save in the browser on the device you use, for your signed-in student account. They do not sync across devices or submit to IEOLCA automatically. You can print or save full modules, your module responses, individual tools, and the final reflection. Use fictional client information in course exercises and keep real client records in a separate appropriate system.

Completion, tuition & practice

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Complete the five modules, prepare your closing reflection, and email it to IEOLCA for review. Your certificate of completion is emailed after review. This business course does not award Pet Death Doula Certification or a veterinary or counselling qualification.

Can this help me earn income as a pet death doula?

The course helps you work through services, pricing, available time, expenses, and referral relationships so you can make informed practice decisions. It does not guarantee clients, employment, earnings, or a particular business result. Your opportunities depend on your circumstances, skills, community needs, and the work you choose to offer.

What does the course cost?

Complete course tuition is $99 USD. It includes all five modules, the interactive guidebook, all 26 resource tools, lifetime access, and a certificate of completion after your closing reflection is reviewed.

What if the course is not right for me?

Your enrollment is covered by IEOLCA’s 60-day satisfaction guarantee. If the course is not the right fit, a full refund is available within 60 days of purchase.

Can I use this learning where I live?

The course supports non-medical practice planning across different communities. You are responsible for checking the business, insurance, tax, privacy, and permitted-activity requirements that apply to your location and actual services. Veterinary and clinical mental health needs remain with appropriately qualified professionals.

Build with care

Your next step can be
small, clear, and your own.

Give your pet death doula practice a thoughtful foundation—with practical guidance, space to reflect, and tools you can make your own.
